This list includes:
The camera manufacturer Canon Inc., which jumped 26 % in the last six months of 2010; Fanuc Ltd., Japan’s biggest industrial robot manufacturer that advanced 45 % 2010; Dentsu Inc., Japan’s largest advertising company that declared its non-consolidated net sales for December grew by 6.3 % from 2009 to today; Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corp., a chemical products manufacturer grew by 40 % last year.
Also on the list are: Denso Corp., an automobile parts manufacturer; Daiwa House Industry Co., a home-building company; FamilyMart Co., which operates a convenience-store chain; Rinnai Corp., which manufactures gas appliances; Asics Corp., which manufactures sporting goods; Nichicon Corp. which manufactures capacitors ; and Nippon Shinyaku Co., a health food and pharmaceuticals maker.
The chief equity strategist for brokerage, Chisato Haganuma, wrote “To invest selectively by looking at medium- and long-term profit for companies is key to increase return on investment in the next few years.”
Seoul Stocks declined yesterday after Wall Street fell based on fears about European Government debts. Samsung and Hana Financial Group dropped and the Korea Composite Stock Price Index .KS11 (Kospi) fell 0.87 % to 2,062.73 points. Also, on Thursday, the Bank of Korea will review the interest rates. Meanwhile, the chemical industries are still doing well.
CG Foods, a division of the Cinnovation Group from Singapore, said it will invest Rs.100 crore over the next three years to enlarge its manufacturing capacity in India.
Due to the government’s announcement that China will invest 700 Yuan ($106 Billion) in the railroads in 2011, the stocks of China’s two biggest train manufacturers, CSR Corp. and China CNR Corp., shot up in trading on the Shanghai market.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic affairs announced that Qualcomm, Inc. has decided to invest $1Billion in 2011 to build a plant in Taiwan. The factory will manufacture computer screens using the Mirasol technology. There were very few details given and by Qualcomm’s representative, Mr. Adrian Fu was unavailable for questions.
Of pledged investments of approximately $2.93 billion by Vietnamese companies, approximately $900 million have been invested in projects overseas. In 2010, private and state owned companies have invested in 25 countries in 107 projects according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
